ASHLEY WAROKOMSKI
TUTORING
Hi, I’m Ashley! I help students reach their potential in college courses that are known to be particularly challenging- general chemistry, organic chemistry, and calculus.
I have a bachelor's of science degree in Chemistry, which I received from the University of Delaware in 2021. While at UD, I worked as a teaching assistant for 3 years in CHEM101, 102, 103, and 104, as well as the general chemistry labs. I have been tutoring general chemistry, organic chemistry, and calculus for the past 4 years and know the in's and out's of these courses at UD.
Because of my experience, I know exactly how to help students understand the material in these courses and prepare for exams.
College Chemistry courses move quickly, and most students find that they don’t fully understand a topic before the professor moves on. This can lead to students memorizing how to do problems without fully understanding the science behind them. My tutoring philosophy involves helping students actually understand their course material so they have the foundation and skills to solve any problem on an exam, even if it looks different than what they've seen.
I’ll do this by pinpointing the specific material the student is struggling with, and breaking it down in a simple way. I’ll teach problem solving skills and provide a simple, systematic way to work through practice problems. I’ll also connect the dots between what is learned in lecture and what types of problems will come up on exams. I couldn’t find this personalized support when I was a student, so that is exactly why I’m passionate about helping current students thrive. My belief is that every student is capable of success once they have the proper support.
